Following President Bola Tinubu’s first inaugural speech that ends the oil subsidy, and series of other actions including the suspension of the Central Bank Governor, CBN, Godwin Emefiele and the accession to the student loans bill, Reno Omokri, a former aide of the ex-president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has praised the new administration for its performance in office so far.

Omokri, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, confessed that he never supported the president, due to his antecedents, but acknowledged that Tinubu’s positive impact within the two weeks he assumed office has impressed him.

According to him, he has more respect for the president than some clerics whose prophesies about the February 25 elections came to nought.

Accordingly him, “A politician that keeps his campaign promises is one hundred times better than a pastor whose prophecies do not come to pass.

“I never supported Tinubu because of his past, especially with the Chicago white heroin cartel. Nevertheless, in the last two weeks, he has impressed me with his performance.

“And I have more respect for him than for men of God, like pastors Tunde Bakare, Paul Enenche, and many others, who sullied themselves with their utterances and actions during #NigerianElections2023.”

It would be recalled that Tinubu during his campaign, promised to hit the ground running once he is elected into office as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Many Nigerians took this promise with a pinch of salt as politicians are notorious for speaking from both sides of their mouths. However, analysts said the president has been true to his campaign promise and has generally shocked Nigerians with his actions.
