As Muslim faithful across the country celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has called on Nigerians to renew their faith in God and intensify prayers to overcome the myriads of challenges bedevilling the country.

Omo-Agege who made this call in his goodwill message to Muslim faithful, also urged them to use the occasion of commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet to deepen their love, patience and perseverance.

In the message which was contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, the Deputy Senate President stressed that with prayers, love and unity by all Nigerians, the challenges facing the nation would be surmounted.

He urged the Muslim community to use the occasion to reflect on the essential lessons of the prophet’s life and pray for sustained peace in the country.

“I call on Muslims to embrace the exemplary conduct of Prophet Muhammad so as to ensure the growth and development of the country. They should also imbibe peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths Omo-Agege said.
