As the Senate continue the debate on state of the nation’s economy on Thursday, more Senators has kick against the sales of some National Assets as it is been canvassed by some individuals.

In his contribution Senator Ovie Omo-Agege representing Delta Central said those interested buying government properties should go for moribund industries in various parts of the country. “There are several moribund industries across the country if any of the businessmen are interested, they should buy one of them and create employment for our people” Omo-Agege said.

In the same vein Senator Abdullahi Adamu representing Nasarawa West called on the lawmakers to protect the national assets for the future generation. He said selling of national asset will only put smile only 1percent of Nigerians. “ I am also against the selling of national assets, if we do we are only putting smile in 1 percent of Nigerians. We must protect what we have, we cannot be a generation of politicians that are selling the national assets” Adamu said.

Senator Emmanuel Paulker representing Bayelsa Central wonders where the revenue the federal and state governments normally share would come from if the national assets are sold.
