Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has described the Late Itsekiri sage, Pa. Isaac Omirestuli Jemide, as a father figure to many, a champion of many good causes and a promoter of equity in the utilization of resources for the development of communities.

In a condolence message signed by Mr. Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate, Omo-Agege expressed grief over the demise of the Oshodi of Warri Kingdom, adding that the late erudite legal luminary lived a life worthy of emulation.

The national lawmaker recalled that the Late Pa. Jemide contributed immensely to the development of Delta State and championed many good causes with his compelling knowledge of the law.

He said: “As Delta State’s Commissioner on the board of the defunct Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), Pa. Jemide insisted on the judicious and equitable use of oil resources for the development of all oil-producing communities. He was respected by many as a voice of reason and respecter of the Catholic faith’s Rosary Club ‘Four Pillars of Truth’.

“May the God Almighty grant Pa. Jemide’s family the fortitude to bear his transition to the heavenly realm and may Papa’s soul rest In peace.”

Pa. Jemide died on Sunday 13, December at the age of 88. His passage was announced by the Secretary of the Warri Council of Chiefs, Chief Eugene Ikomi.

He was a consummate lawyer and former member of the House of Assembly in the defunct Bendel State.
