The immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has written a heartfelt tribute to mourn the passing of the Executive Director of Projects of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Taleb Tebite.
Tebite, a two-term former member of the Delta State House of Assembly was said to have passed away while receiving medical treatment in a Lagos hospital on Monday night.
Tebite, a prominent palace chief of the Olomu Kingdom, was said to have been briefly ill and rushed to a hospital where he passed on Monday evening.
Reacting, Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of Urhoboland, described the passage of Tebite as a great loss.
The former deputy president of the Nigerian Senate also sent his condolences to the family of the deceased and the entire Delta State, praying that God will give everyone the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Omo-Agege said: “I received the news of the passing of Olorogun (Hon.) Taleb Tebite, Executive Director of Project on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, with shock, disbelief and sadness.
“My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and political associates. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time of mourning and sadness.
“May the gentle soul of Olorogun (Hon.) Taleb Tebite and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
