Serving Senator representing Delta Central in the Senate has kick-started his campaign for a second tenure in the Red Chambers, calling on the Urhobo people to take advantage of the several projects which President Buhari’s administration has executed in the district and the chances open for Urhobo to produce a ranking Senator and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election.

Senator Omo-Agege who made this call while kick-starting his campaign in Udu Ward I, Otor-Udu, headquarters of Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today, recalled the sordid situation facing the Urhobo prior to the 2015 election, adding that today the situation has changed positively for the Delta Central people.

The prospective second tenure ranking senator, reeled out some of the strategic projects which the President Buhari administrations has completed and others ongoing in Urhobo land, stressing on the completion of the railway project from Udu to Itakpe in Kogi State.

Said he: “The Aladja-Itakpe railway project was abandoned by past administrations.  But as a Senator I can tell you that I put pressure on President Buhari to ensure the completion of the project and all the overhead bridges attached to the railway projects.  And in the next one week, people will be able to travel on train from Udu to Itakpe.

“The President has also promised to extend the rail line to NPA and to Abuja and so it will be possible to travel from Udu to Abuja on train.”

The Senator also stressed that it was Buhari’s administration which worked hard to ensure that the pension of DSC workers were paid as well as put in motion the resuscitation of the steel plant.

He recalled that the Sapele-Agbor Federal highway has been abandoned for a long time but with the coming of President Buhari, the project for the construction of the road has started.

Senator Omo-Agege urged the Urhobos to vote massively for President Buhari if they want more projects and also complete the ongoing federal project in the state.  According to him, “if you want me to go back to the Senate as a ranking Senator, then you must cast your vote for President Buhari on February 16, 2019.”

He also urged the people to vote massively for Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru for the governorship of the state, adding that “the era of Ogboru winning and his victory highjacked by PDP was over”.  He assured that the people’s votes will not only count but protected.

Omo-Agege also called on the people of Udu, Ughelli North and South Federal constituency to vote for the APC candidate, Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive for the House of Representative, adding that a synergy between him in the Senate and Rev. Waive in House of Reps will produced the best result for the Constituency, just as the Senator called on the people of Udu to vote for Hon. Ben Shatar for the House of Assembly to work with Governor Ogboru for the good of the Udu people.

Responding, the President-General of the Otor-Udu community, commended the Senator noting that his good performance for the past three and half years speak volume and do not need canvassing before the people will cast their votes for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for a second tenure.

Present at the ceremony were the leader of the Elder Advisory Council of the Ovie Omo-Agege Campaign Council, Chief Samuel Oteheri, the State Vice Chairman of the APC Delta Central, Olorogun Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, among others.

The Campaign train moved to Owhode Udu Ward 2 where the gospel of 100 percent win for the APC in the forthcoming election was preached to the people by Senator Omo-Agege.  He reiterated his numerous achievements in the Senate including ensuring putting in place a legal framework for the establishment of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun and the Bill making it a crime for lecturers sexually abusing female students in higher institutions in the country, law which he assured will be assented to by the President in a couple of weeks from now.

He also recalled his effort at convincing Mr. President for the completion of the Udu-Itakpe railway project, adding that President Buhari was gracious enough to authorize the completion of the railway project and the adjoining overhead bridges.

Omo-Agege also reiterated President Buhari’s administration effort towards payment of pensions for retired DSC workers as well as revamping the steel plant to create employment. He noted that President Buhari’s integrity is one of his assets which stands him out as an impeccable leader, adding that he “does not steal public fund and would also not allow anyone to do so.”

Earlier, the Senator had emphasized that the Senate is not for house boys and house girls or people, adding that Urhobo need real men as national lawmakers to take the people to the next level.

He advised the people to look out for the symbol of broom in the ballot papers in February 16, 2019 for national election and March 2, for the governorship and state house of Assembly.

Senator Omo-Agege also used to occasion to stress on the importance of election Chief Ovedje Ogboru as governor of Delta State in March 2, 2019, adding that as a governor, he wields so much power that will enable him impact on the lives of Deltans, especially the Urhobos positively.
