The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has extolled the exemplary leadership and legal qualities of a former Deputy Governor and Attorney General of Delta State, Professor Amos Utuama (SAN) on the occasion of the latter’s 73rd birthday.

In a special congratulatory message to the septuagenarian, SenatorĀ  Omo-Agege who represents Delta Central Senatorial District at the Senate noted that Utuama, over the years, has contributed immensely to the advancement of the nation’s legal jurisprudence through advocacy and scholarly erudition.

The Deputy Senate President who applauded the former deputy governor for bringing his erudition and astuteness to bear on the affairs of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole while in and out of public service particularly described Utuama as an erudite Scholar, legal practitioner, administrator and politician who is an asset to the Urhobo nation, Delta state and the country in general.

It would be recalled that Prof Utuama, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN), a former deputy governor of Delta State, and two term Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice recently attained the age of 73.

Utuama was deputy to Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, the immediate past Delta state governor between 2007-2015. Previously, Utuama had served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice during the administration of Chief James Ibori between 1999-2007.

The Deputy Senate president prayed that the Almighty God will grant the legal scholar good health and greater prosperity in the years ahead. He said: ” I acknowledge your patriotism and commitment to the growth and development of Delta state, as attested to in your meritorious service to the state first as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and as Deputy Governor of our dear state.”

Omo-Agege who is also the leader of the South South Caucus of the ruling APC added:”On behalf of my family, political associates, constituents and well-wishers, I felicitate with you on the occasion of your 73rd birthday.

“I thank the almighty God for his continued guidance and protection over you and here is wishing you good health and greater prosperity in the years ahead.”
