Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, remains confident in the national team’s readiness for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games,in Paris, France.

Speaking at the 2024 Ladies in Sports Conference in Lagos, Nnadozie emphasized the team’s mental and physical preparedness as , Falcons will be playing Brazil, Spain, and Japan in Group C of one of the world’s biggest event.

The Paris Football Club goalkeeper, highlighted the team’s resilience and ability to overcome tough opponents, referencing their performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The 23-year-old player said :“This grouping happened at the last World Cup. We had Canada, England, and Australia. Nobody believed in us; they believed we were just coming to participate.”

The goalkeeper noted, that the Super Falcons remain focused and unshaken, despite external doubts and their formidable group opponents.

“We have this team that doesn’t care about what the world is saying. We are mentally and physically prepared; we have young, good, and talented players. We are mixed with both old and young players who are experienced and playing in the top European leagues and other countries,” she added.

Nnadozie acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football but affirmed the team’s determination to make Nigeria proud. She said: “I can’t say much because football is unpredictable. What we want to do is on our mind. We are so ready; we will also go there and make the nation proud,” she stated.

Reflecting on their World Cup success, Nnadozie assured fans that the team aims to build on their achievements. “What we did at the last World Cup wasn’t the end; we are going to continue, and going to the Olympics, we will try our best to qualify from the group stage,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, with the 2024 Olympics starting from Friday, 26 July to Sunday, 11 August, 2024, the Super Falcons will be going for their fourth Olympics outing – the most of any African nation, and their first appearance since Beijing 2008.
