Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.has continued the business of forming his cabinet days after his inauguration.
This is as he sworn in the Secretary to the State Government and the State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice.
Musa Ikhilor, a lawyer, assumed office as SSG, while Samson Osagie also a lawyer, was sworn in as the Attorney-General of the State and Commissioner for Justice.
The New Diplomat reports that the swearing-in ceremony came after Okpebholo had announced their nomination on Tuesday.
Following the development, the Governor sent the names of Osagie and Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
On Wednesday, the Edo State House of Assembly screened and confirmed Osagie.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Okpebholo, in his address to the newly appointed officials, articulated his vision for ensuring effective governance in Edo.
He emphasized the importance of their collaboration and support in fulfilling his commitment to serve the people of the state, highlighting his dedication to addressing their needs and enhancing their quality of life.
The new Secretary to the State Government, Mr Ikhilor, as well as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Osagie, pledged to join the governor in delivering practical governance and serving Edo people, deploying their expertise and experience to the best of their abilities.
