Less than 24 hours to the commencement of his tenure as Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo has announced the appointment of a former Assistant political editor with The Sun newspaper, Fred Itua, as his Chief Press Secretary.

Okpebholo also announced that Itua’s appointment will take effect on November 12, 2024.

The incoming Governor of Edo State explained that he believes Itua’s expertise and commitment to high standards in journalism and public communication will be valuable assets to his administration as he prepares to deliver on its mandate to the people of Edo State.

The New Diplomat reports that Itua is a journalist with extensive experience who had previously served as the Assistant Political Editor at The Sun newspaper.
