Lawmaker representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha, has declared his intention to vie for the Number One seat in the land.

Okorocha, a former Governor of Imo State, announced his decision in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan and read out during plenary today.

He said he would be contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said he would address a world press conference on Monday, January 31st, 2022 to officially declare his ambition.

Okorocha has now joined the list of several individuals who have declared interest in contesting in the 2023 presidential election.

Among those that have declared interest are the national leader of the ruling APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi; frontline journalist and Newspaper columnist, Dele Momodu and former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Prof. Peter Nnanna Umeadi.
