The Director-General, World Trade Orgainsation, WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has reacted to claims that she disrespected President Bola Tinubu with her late tweets of pictures she took with him at the just concluded Global Financial Summit Pact in Paris, France.
She had been getting a lot of backlash for first tweeting her Pictures with other world leaders while neglecting the ones with the Nigerian president and later posting pictures of herself with him under the caption, “More images from the Paris Summit,” after she had been called out.
Responding, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala who finally posted her pictures President Tinubu on her verified Twitter handle on Saturday, said she was posting these pictures as she received them from staff at the Summit and not as a deliberate design.
It would be recalled that Nigerians took to her comment section to bombard the WTO leader with questions and accusations after she only posted pictures she took with other world leaders.
In her response she admonished Nigerians to be calm. “Nigerians please relax! Re Paris, Interesting attacks from both sides. Sadly shows the depth of polarization in our society. I post photos in the order received by accompanying staff or colleagues. Reading more into it is unwarranted. Let’s unite to build our country not attack!”

Firstly, let me clarify that my intention is not to foster bigotry or hatred but to emphasize the significance of respecting our own values and culture. It is my belief that when we demonstrate appreciation for our heritage, it fosters a sense of pride that extends beyond our borders.
I observed the picture you posted on your Twitter handle from the event where the leaders of our country, along with representatives from other nations, were in attendance. As a person of your remarkable caliber, it surprised me that you seemed to prioritize the recognition of others over our own country’s president. This left me feeling disheartened and disappointed.
I understand that individuals may have different perspectives and priorities, and it is not my place to dictate your choices. However, I wanted to share my thoughts and express my concern about what I perceive as a missed opportunity to show support for our nation and its leadership.
My intention is not to shame you, but rather to encourage reflection and growth. I believe that we can always strive to do better and align our actions with our values. I hope that in future situations, you will consider the impact of your choices and make decisions that align with your beliefs and demonstrate support for our country.

Lol, how she ridiculously categorized the whole president of her country as “More images from the Paris Summit”. tho.
She is whatever the ‘Agbado guys’ described her to be except for the ethnic generalization. Hatred will not hand Obi the Presidency.

So if they had not called you out, you wouldn’t have posted your country’s president! Charity begins at home. Don’t do that again next time. I’m highly disappointed in you ma.

Medicine after death, why are you uploading this picture now after achieving your aim? Are you tired of romancing Obidiots for their cheap recognition?
Tinubu is your President from now till 2031 and there is nothing you can do about it.

After the backlass, you quickly posted this. Smh!!! We don’t let you forget that when you were finance minister, you and your Jonathan were borrowing money to pay salaries during oil boom, for that matter. Shame!!!
