The 2023 governorship candidate of the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu hax regained his freedom on Tuesday hours after he was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

This development was confirmed by the media aide of Adebutu, Afolabi Orekoya.

Orekoya, who confirmed the development to the press, said his principal was released on Tuesday after being quizzed by the Department of State Services.

It would be recalled that the Publicity Secretary of the Ogun state chapter of PDP, Kayode Adebayo, had raised an alarm that Adebutu was arrested by the Ogun state command of the DSS in Abeokuta, the state capital on Monday.

Adebayo said the 2023 Governorship candidate was arrested by the DSS without any formal reasons or charges.

However, reports suggested that Adebutu was arrested and questioned over an alleged connection with a disturbance during the recent local government elections held last Saturday.
