A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Yewa South local government area of Ogun State, Hon. Sheriff Bankole has warned the state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to desist from casting aspersion on Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola because of political rivalry.

Bankole who gave the warning while fielding questions from newsmen in Abeokuta; the Ogun State capital, after a meeting of the “Pacesetter YAYI Group”, noted that Senator Adeola is an illustrious son of Yewa land in Ogun State.

He explained that Adeola is one of the highly respected sons and daughters of Ogun West Senatorial District of the state, lamenting that “it is very painful when Governor Amosun recently called him names at a public function in Abeokuta because of who will succeed him in 2019”.

He said, “If truly Governor Amosun wants to support Ogun West Senatorial District governorship agenda in 2019 as he has promised, the support should be based on equity, fairness and justice”.

“I pray God use Amosun to settle political crisis in Yewa land since Ogun State was created 42 years ago, stressing that nobody from Yewa extraction of Ogun State has occupy the exalted position”.

Bankole further said, “in Yewa land, we know ourselves. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola is not an imported candidate. He is our son in Ilaro. He hails from Ishaga compound at Pahayi in Ilaro, Yewa South local government area of Ogun State”.

“There is nothing like imported political candidate from Yewa. Yewa is blessed with responsible and successful sons and daughters who are doing well in their various endeavours.

It would be recalled that Amosun at the inauguration of members of the Consultative Advisory Councils for the 57 local government and local council development authorities in the State gave an inkling of where the gubernatorial political pendulum may swing to in Ogun State in 2019, saying :in the interest of fairness, equity and justice, he would not support or campaign for any candidate from Ogun Central senatorial district that produced him as a two-term governor”.

He however charged the people of Ogun West to be united ahead of 2019 elections and say no to “imported politicians”, promising to support and actively campaign for a governorship candidate from the Ogun West senatorial district as his successor.
