Obasanjo gave the indication during a one-day visit to Warri, Delta State where he inspected facilities in an indigenous oil and gas company, Lee Engineering and Construction Company Limited, as well as paid a courtesy visit to the Uvwie monarch, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I and Warri monarch, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli, Olu of Warri in their palaces.

While thanking the duo of Barr. Kingsley Otuaro and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the former President noted that they were with him all through the course of his visit to the oil city. He prayed that they will experience political elevation in the nearest future.

His words: “I say, without being a palace coup, that the acting in the governorship will in some future date be removed,” and he spoke to the Honourable Speaker saying, “since you are speaking here in Delta State, God will make you speak somewhere else higher than in Delta State.”

The former President had, during his visit to the palace of the Warri monarch, stated that there was nothing wrong with Nigeria as a nation but that a lot was wrong with Nigerians, adding that if there must be restructuring, it must be with the mind-set and mentality of Nigerians.

“I always say that there is nothing wrong with Nigeria, but there is a lot wrong with Nigerians”, he noted, adding that he believed “the answer to most of our problem is mindset change and change of mentality.”

“If we need any restructuring at all, it is the restructuring of our mind set and the restructuring of our mentality. How will anybody, in his right senses believe that the way out of our problems in Nigeria is through separation”, he added.
