Worried by the rising cases of insecurity in Edo State, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba Ewuare 11 has solicited the support of the leaders of the different ethnic groups in tackling security challenges in the state.

Speaking in Benin during a visit by leaders of Arewa Community, he disclosed that he gets complaints on security matters daily.

The traditional ruler noted that crime is better fought through unity and peaceful co-existence of the various ethic groups.

“It is always easy to achieve peace and security when there is oneness, not division. It is easier to find solutions,” Oba Ewuare 11 said.

The monarch, expressed concern over complaints from some traditional rulers due to security crisis in some parts of the state.

“On a daily basis, I get complaints on security matters from Edo North and Edo Central Senatorial districts. Some of the traditional rulers there come to me for intervention. We will try our best.”

The Chairman of Arewa Arewa Community and Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Adamu Isa pledged his loyalty to the revered Benin monarch and sued for peace.

Alhaji Isa extolled the sterling leadership qualities of the Oba of Benin.

He called for closer ties between the traditional ruler and Arewa Community for the purpose of crime fighting.
