Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has clinched the All Progressives Congress(APC) ticket for the Delta North Senatorial district.
Nwaoboshi, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger-Delta, emerged as the party’s Delta North Senatorial District candidate flagbearer unopposed.
It was gathered that Nwaoboshi was issued a certificate of clearance as a sole aspirant, which automatically qualifies him as the senatorial candidate for Delta North.
The federal lawmaker who was elected into the Senate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has since decamped to the APC.
Similarly, Chief Ede Dafinone and Chief Joel-Onowakpo Thomas also clinched the Delta Central and Delta South senatorial districts tickets, respectively.
The New Diplomat reports that Nwaoboshi was the chairman of Delta state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) from 2008 to 2014.
He also served as a Commissioner for Agriculture and Special Duties in Delta State during the administration of former governor James Ibori.
Dafinone is an established Accountant who has been actively involved in several professional committees and associations.
He served as the Treasurer of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (1989) andwas a Member of the National Broadcasting Commission (1992-1994) as well as the Chairman of Nigerian Conservation Foundation (2015).
His area of expertise includes Auditing, Accounting, and Insurance brokerage, Project Planning & Execution, Financial & Economic Planning, among others.
Dafinone is the Son of the Great Business ICON, Late David Dafinone. He is the Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Promotion Group (MANEG) and currently serves as the Chairman of ICAEWâs Members Advisory Board for Africa.
Similarly, Joel-Onowakpo is the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Elomaz Best Western Hotels, Asaba with Hotels all over Nigeria and in other African Countries. He is a Chattered Accountant, former Chairman Federal Inland Revenue and Delta State Inland Revenue Boards.
