On August 24, 2024, Hon. Chris Ezema was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nsukka Local Government Area during the party’s congress. Chief Innocent Ezeoha, Deputy Chairman of PDP in Enugu State and the Returning Officer of the congress, announced Ezema’s victory. Other party executives were also elected during the event.

Ezema who expressed gratitude to the party members for their confidence in him, promised to lead with an open-door policy.

The outgoing Chairman, Hon. Fabian Onah, praised the members for their support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same to the new leadership.

Among the newly elected executives were Lady Beatrice Asogwa who emerged as Vice Chairman and Hon. Casmir Ugwuokwor who got elected as Secretary. Additionally, Dr. Dan Shere, former Secretary to the Enugu State Government, was elected as a National Delegate during the congress.
