Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has said he would not join issues with his detractors who have infiltrated the party by making unnecessary comments.

The Kwankwasiyya movement leader said airing his views about the ongoing crisis rocking the party will amount to dignifying his detractors’ actions.

Kwankwaso made this known when asked by journalists in his Miller road residence in Kano Tuesday afternoon, The former Kano State governor said he had nothing to say about the issue.

“I don’t want to talk please. Don’t drag me into what I am not supposed to be dragged into. The chairman of the party has spoken and has been speaking, reach out to him,” he said.

The New Diplomat had reported that the NNPP is embroiled in a crisis which has led to the fragmentation of the party into factions.

This became apparent on Monday when some members of the NNPP announced the suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

These members were led by Dr Gilbert Agbo the factional National Chairman.

According to the statement made by Agbo, the presence of Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiyan group have become threat to the progress of the party.
Agbo added that since Kwankwaso had been suspended he was no longer a bona fide member of the NNPP.

Also on Monday evening the NNPP announced the suspension of the Secretary to the State Government of Kano State (SSG), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi and the Commissioner of transportation, Muhammad Diggol.

According to the party chairman, Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, the suspension followed alleged disrespect to the party, abuse of power, office and disloyalty to the party.

Recall that the suspension came barely an hour after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf led a reconciliation move between the SSG and the aggrieved members of his constituency.

The SSG had also dissociated himself from the ongoing campaign targeted at creating a gulf between Governor Yusuf and Kwankwaso under the guise of ‘Abba Tsaya da Kafarka’ meaning; Abba stand on your feet.
