In its effort to diversify company’s portfolio, NIKOY Nigeria Limited has launched two new subsidiaries with a view to encourage personalized and value-added services which touch on social-psychology of individuals.
Launching the new subsidiaries named: ACE WASH N DRY LAUNDROMAT and WORK HIVE CO-WORK SPACE in Lagos over the weekend, the Chairman, NIKOY Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olawale Oyedele stated that the achievement recorded by the parent company in the aggro-allied sector had served as a morale booster to widen the scope of its investment and create a lot more opportunities.
“As a fallout of globalization, Nigerian millennials are in dire need of technological-driven office space at reduced cost. Our corporate innovativeness has therefore brought about the decision to float WORK HIVE.”
Characterized by the availability of all relevant facilities, including steady internet access, the newly opened co-working space, WORK HIVE, by the company is cost effective and flexible in payment tenure, Oyedele assured. He stressed that it increases productivity, boosts networking opportunities, creates access to new clients and enhances business to grow faster.
Oyedele noted that the ACE WASH N DRY LAUNDROMAT will embraced an advanced dry cleaning method which is in vogue in the developed economies. “This business focuses on the imperative of modern-day technology which is the love of our millennial teeming population. The self service business of dry cleaning which can be done at the shortest possible space of time and at affordable cost is gradually
emerging in Nigeria.”
Endorsing the public presentation of ACE WASH N DRY LAUNDROMAT and WORK HIVE 1CO-WORK SPACE, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. (Chief) Joseph Sanusi, recommended the two companies to both individuals and corporate entities, saying, “they are established on the pillars of integrity, skills value and iron determination to sustain quality services at affordable prices for everyone.”
Sanusi also asked the federal government to deploy fiscal incentives to encourage entrepreneurs to establish companies in Nigeria in order to create employment and boost the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“Apart from the provision of infrastructure, incentives such as tax holiday for about three years and government’s patronage of the companies’ products and services will go a long way in encouraging our millennial entrepreneurs to actualize their vision and natural talent for productive ventures,” he stated.
In his remarks, Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC, Mr. Wole Adeniyi lauded the management of NIKOY for diversifying its portfolio into Laundromat and Co-working space services.
“We’re here to appreciate the growth and diversification of our partner NIKOY to two new subsidiaries. Having banked a customer for over two decades, the relationship has cascaded from that of a customer to partner.
“It’s not just another business, but this is about creating more opportunities, jobs, investment chain and other deliverables.”
Chairman, Olusegun Osunkeye and Associates, Chief Olusegun while congratulating the company’s bold initiative, said it takes a lot of courage to set up new business in Nigeria due to the many aggravations and frustrations involved. He urged government to engender a better business environment by reviving the country’s decaying infrastructures.
“I congratulate the management and staff of ACE WASH N DRY LAUNDROMAT and WORK HIVE CO-WORK SPACE, on these initiatives. I want to urge the government to create enabling environment for entrepreneurs through provision necessary infrastructure. The industrial sector is facing problems of access to finance, power, skills and infrastructure,” he said.
Osunkeye described the government’s new Bill that requires banks and insurance companies to set aside ten percent of their profit before tax for national housing fund as vexatious.
Speaking with newsmen, the Managing Director, ACE WASH LAUNDROMAT and WORK HIVE, Ms. Mojisola Oyedele said the inspiration to start the business came from some of her own frustrations in getting laundry done by professionals, as well as the high cost and the longer time it takes to get the actual work delivered.
“Ace Wash Laundromat is a facility where customers can come to the Laundromat space to wash 10KG of cloth which is approximately 25 adult clothing under one hour and it all costs N1,500 only.
“We offer two types of services — self wash and drop wash. They can opt for anyone of those services. Our wash time is shorter due to the availability of high class equipment. We are offering a 20% discount for all our customers. Also, the service for our co-working space is already being discounted at 20% and it comes with a complimentary five hour use of the space,” she said.
