Barrage of reactions have continued to greet the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as the running mate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu by virtue of choosing Shettima means the ruling party will fly a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the forthcoming presidential election.

Shettima is a Senator representing Borno Central District in the nation’s Upper Chamber. He was a two-term governor in Borno state.

The development has ignited a debate in the social media especially on Twitter where some quarters believe the APC national leader has shot himself in the leg for choosing another Muslim as his vice, known as a Muslim-Muslim ticket in Nigeria’s politics.

Below here are some of the reactions harvested on social media;

“I know for a fact that my Muslim brothers who are justifying the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket would not bring this same energy if it were a Christian-Christian ticket,…

But anyway, May we make a choice that we do not regret,”(@mribaliyu)

“The APC is an anti Christian party. The APC hates Christianity. They want to do to Nigeria what El Rufai has done in Kaduna. No to a Muslim/Muslim ticket. No to APC.”(@hermanhembe)

“In 2014 APC toyed with Muslim-Muslim ticket. It was said then that Tinubu wanted to be Vice President. He let of of his ambition because it would not fly. The same APC has gotten into power and grown wings and horns.
Nigerians will clip those wings and horns Insha Allah,”(@AishaYesufu)

“As a Muslim, it’s divisive and irresponsible to even contemplate a Muslim-Muslim ticket let alone carrying it out. Muslims should resist this as we won’t take anything Christian-Christian ticket now or in future. This is absurd.”(DrealAdo)
