  • Says Malami is a ” public enemy like the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele

The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has come under fire for daring to file preliminary objection to the Supreme Court ruling against the new naira note policy.
Malami has on Wednesday, asked the apex court through his lawyers, Mahmud Magaji and Tijanni Gazali to dismiss the suit against the deadline for the use of the old naira notes.
Since the AGF initiated the move, the local and international media spaces have been agogo with plethora of criticisms, addressing Malami in borrowed robes and a misfit for the job.
The Director, Media of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bayo Onanuga was the first to fire a savo against AGF over his disposition to the apex court ruling when he named him as “a public enemy” of Nigeria.
Onanuga in a tweet described Malami as “a public enemy” like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Others who flayed the stance of the AGF on the matter are revealed in a network pool monitored by The New Diplomat.

Excerpts:

This is not about Tinubu. Why are we personalising this issue. If he doesn’t want Tinubu, is it Obi he wants as a Fulani man? If he is rooting for Atiku Abubakar that the crisis that will follow will be too destructive. Or is it because he knows he is going for life?

Du Covena:

Isn’t it ironic for someone with “integrity” to have so much of deceit and evil machination emanating from the same person? Look at the chaos, back stabbing, betrayals, corruption, he seems to enjoy every moment because of power. Leadership of a country is a serious business and not the way we do things in Nigeria. How can anyone be proud to be the leader of Nigeria giving all that’s happening in and around country today. We have a President who trusts all his appointees tell him, provided they swear to “God.” This is not what serious leadership is all about.

Gold’s Son;

We can see why the masses of Nigeria are subjected to untold hardships. It’s so glaring that Emefiele is being used by his tribesmen to unleash unnecessary on Nigerians when the government have alternative to curbing the fraudulent politicians from using state resources to get to power. Are there no other means? Why putting Nigerians through this pain for God sake. Everyone involved in the course of this suffering would not live to enjoy his/her labour. Students in the school are suffering. Corps member are crying. Yet, some useless persons are happy with what is happening. Make the notes available for us. That’s all.

FTD:
Sir, I’m also for extending the deadline for the validity of the old naira notes as a legal tender, as implementation of the Swap has been an utter failure, aided also in no small part by sabotage from the banks, in collusion with some elites. In principle, I support the any vote buying aim of the policy. This is where my agreement with you ends.

Adamu:

Emefiele is still saying he can’t extend it as if he’s the President or he has a personal interest in the suffering of the masses

Truth Heals:

Those politicians instigating poor Nigerians to protest must be shamed. The AGF, Abubakar Malami must be one of them. I believe the man is too idle in his office.
However, the DSS and EFCC should arrest more bank managers for serving politicians against the general interest of the public.

Bolaji Ukus:

I’m less concerned about politicians. I’m concerned about the suffering masses. I am not a politician, and have no interest in it. I may have my candidate because I want to exercise my right of choice. I see people suffering around me and I’m personally bothered. That’s it.

Akpors Felix:

With the likes of Malami as AGF, we now know better where the problems of the Buhari’s administration is coming from. He is a Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria not by merit by quota system. He is a minister by quota. He would rather prefers Nigerians suffer to achieve their diabolical political aspirations. What a shame?

Kwale Boy:

The President should call Malami to order. As the popular saying among my Ogwashi uku kinsmen states:” let us remove the hands of the monkey in the soup pot before it becomes human hands.” Therefore, why not give Malami the boot before he recks in more havoc in the government.

Bug fix:

Those are who familiar with the antecedents of the AGF since his appointment would confirm that the man has contributed immensely in bringing the administration of President Buhari to public ridicule. He must not forget in a hurry that every dog has it’s day. It’s a question of time. Very soon, he will be at the other side of the divide.

Chioma;

Don’t the stuff the AGF is made of. However, the vibes around him do not speak well of him. He should rethink his decision. Otherwise, Nigerians will conclude without further hesitation that he is doing the bidding of his paymasters. I wish him goodluck.
