Troops of 145 Battalion said countless members of Boko Haram terrorists that attacked the unit location in Damasak, Borno State on Tuesday have been killed.

Confirming the report Director Army Public Relations Brigadier General Texas Chukwu said the gallant neutralised countless terrorist and damaged their weapons and equipment.

Chukwu added resilient troops are on hot pursuit of the remaining terrorists that may have escaped.

“The gallant troops of 145 Battalion, Operation LAFIYA DOLE located at the northern part of Borno Stated dazed Boko Haram terrorists that made the mistake of attacking the location on12th September 2018.

“The gallant neutralised countless terrorist and damaged their weapons and equipment.  The resilient troops are on hot pursuit of the remaining terrorists that may have escaped” Chukwu said

The Army spokesman also denied some media report that the terrorists captured Damasak 24 hours after the visit of Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai. “Nigerian Army wishes to state categorically that, the claim is not only untrue but capable of misleading members of the general public and the world at large” Chukwu said

He also stated that the fight against Boko Haram Terrorists in the North Eastern parts of the country is yielding positive result.
