Declaring the result on Monday in Onitsha, the Returning Officer, Prof. Hugh Maduka, said Stella Oduah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 113,989 votes to defeat 20 other candidates.

Chimaroke Nnamani, former governor of Enugu State, has been declared winner of Enugu East Senatorial election held on Saturday.

Wins Ogun Central seat despite all the bad PR he has generated for his party, APC in the last few weeks.
The Returning Officer in the election, Prof. Ayinde Akanbi, declared on Monday that Amosun polled 88,110 votes to defeat Mrs Tunji Oseni-Gomez of the African Democratic Congress(ADC), who had 37,101 votes.

Over 50, 000 cancelled votes in Oshodi/Isolo.
According to the collation officer for Oshodi/lsolo L/Gvt Dr.Adekoya of Unilag, a total of 54,387 votes for areas which include; Bolade, Shogunle, Okota, Ejigbo, Ilasa, Ajao Estate and Ishaga-tedo were cancelled due to pockets of crisis in those places.

After initial skepticism, Senate President Bukola Saraki has lost his bid for re-election into the Senate from Kwara Central, defeated by Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress.

According to the election results announced by the Senatorial District Returning Officer, Prof Olatunbosun Owoyomi from the University of Ilorin APC’s Oloriegbe polled polled a total of 123, 808 votes to defeat Saraki who scored 68, 994 votes in the four local governments of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

01:20 Abuja Results coming from many units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) indicate that the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are in clear lead in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
Recall The New Diplomat in its pre-election forecast had predicted Atiku to win the FCT in spite of the fact that he might struggle to get the popular vote to defeat President Buhari.
Our correspondent stationed in some of the polling units in the metropolis, reported that PDP’s Atiku Abubakar defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC in the FCT cities.
Results are already trickling in from the ward and local government’s collation centres across the country.
We start here for the post-voting updates Sunday. Regardless of how your candidates are performing right now, try and shake off the election fever, there must be a winner in every contest and life goes on.

Voters from among the 72.7 million who have collected their PVCs are already filing out to cast their ballot in the Presidential, Senatorial and Federal House of Representatives elections.
All eyes are on the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, President Muhammadu Buhari and his main challenger, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. But it’s a long ballot paper as there are 73 other candidates on the ballot.
Presidential candidates: ANN’s Fela Durotoye, YPP’s Kingsley Moghalu and AAC’s Omoyele Sowore are expected to prove their mettle among young voters.
For the National Assembly elections, a total of 1,904 are vying for 109 Senatorial seats, while 4,680 candidates are competing for the 360 seats in the House of Representatives.
Specifically, Nigeria’s NASS is made up of 109 members of the Senate or Red Chamber and 360 members of the House of Representatives or Green Chamber.
Already, President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha had voted in Katsina State. The wife, Aisha, voted before the president at 8.06 a.m., while the president voted at 8.10 a.m. at the Kofar Baru, Sarkin Yara “A” ward in Daura.
There have been early morning concerns in North East — Several explosions rocked Maiduguri and attacks were reported in Geidam, Yobe state in an attempt to stop voters from thronging the polling units by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has finally cast his vote after initial delays.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Atiku voted at Ajiya Polling Unit, Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa at 10:08 a.m. He was accompanied by his wife, Titi.

12:05: Akwa Ibom
In most places, voters started voting at about 10am. In Onna ward where Gov Udom Emmanuel voted, the card reader malfunctioned and he had to vote manually.
In northern Uruan LGA, late arrival of materials at 11:30am delayed the process and there’s only 1 card for about 400 voters.
However, there’s been report of thugs scattering voting process in Etim Ekpo Ward 7 Unit 5. Security attention has been called to remedy the situation, our reporter on the ground in Akwa Ibom, Akanimo Kufre reports.
Senator Ita Enang SSA to President Buhari, has voted in Ibiono. At Edemeya, Mkpat Enin, APC governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom Nsima Ekere has also cast his vote.

Former Head of State and statesman, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, was greeted with cheers by voters as he visited some polling units at Karu and Nyanya in Abuja on Saturday. NAN
Breaking: Wild jubilation broke out among Buhari’s supporters in Adamawa following the announcement that Buhari scored 186 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar, who got 167 votes in his own polling unit.
President Buhari had overwhelmingly won his polling unit in Daura, Katsina State. Buhari won his polling unit, PU003 at Sarkin Yara ward A, in Daura. The president scored 523 votes while Atiku got only three votes.
Lagos:
PDP’s Atiku has defeated President Buhari of the APC, at the polling unit of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state.
At Femi Okunnu polling unit in Ikoyi, a polling unit in Lagos where Sanwo-Olu and wife cast their votes, Atiku polled 52 votes while Buhari polled 48 votes.
Anambra:
In Anambra state, at the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi’s polling unit, particularly in PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, PDP polled 258 votes while APC polled 1 vote.
In Kwara state, at PU 009, Kere Aje in Offa LGA, APC polled 116 votes while PDP polled 23 votes.
06:30: The Independent National Electoral Commission, had said that it would reschedule elections in some parts of Rivers, Anambra and Lagos States where there were cases of violence and ballot box snatching.
