The Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have decried the alleged escalation of irregularities at polling units in the just concluded presidential election.

The Board Chairman of Yaga Africa, Useni Abdul urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to query the process that suddenly led to the sudden shut down its Server shortly after the presidential election was concluded.

Also, the Convener of ActionAid, Ene Obi posited that there’s need for the Commission to check reported outrage of intimidation, ballot box snatching and violence recorded in polling units across different states.

In the same vein, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of the Connected Development, Hamza Lawal said cases of irregularities in the election abound in the South East.

He specifically listed polling units in Abia and Imo states where INEC Staff did not report to their duty posts until 4pm.
Lawal alleged that voters were even denied access to the polling units that were arranged in the residence of private individuals.
“In Orlu East of Imo state, voters were asked to go to residential buildings to cast their votes,” he said.
The CEO averred that despite assurances by INEC over the use the BVAs, election results were unable to be uploaded to the server.
