Nigeria witnessed an added number in statistical data of new coronavirus cases following announcement by  the  Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC)  of  490 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on Sunday on its Twitter handle. With this latest development,  this  brings  the comprehensive  statistical  figures  of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 24,567 as at Sunday night.

From the data released by the NCDC,  seven persons died from the virus on Sunday culminating in a total number of confirmed deaths from COVID-19 to 565 while a total of 9,007  have been discharged.

However, there was a marginal decrease  in the statistical  number of official cases reported on Sunday (490) when juxtaposed with  what happened on Saturday, the previous day (779).
