The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed a German coach, Bruno Labbadia, as the new coach of the Nigerian men’s national team, the Super Eagles.

This was announced on the official X-handle of the NFF on Tuesday.

The tweet reads: “The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician Bruno Labbadia to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, Super Eagles.”

“The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development sub-committee to appoint Mr Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.”

The New Diplomat reports that Labbadia is set to become the 37th Head Coach of the Super Eagles after the resignation of former coach, Finidi George.

He is expected to guide the Super Eagles to the forthcoming 2026 World Cup and 2025 African Cup of Nations.
