Amid the lingering crisis orchestrated by the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, on Monday afternoon held a crucial meeting with the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and three aggrieved governors APC who sued the Federal Government.

It was gathered that the aggrieved governors, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state; Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state and Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state were present at the closed-door meeting with the APC Chairman at the party secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting comes amid reports of friction between the governors and President Muhammadu Buhari over his backing of the naira redesign.

The meeting, which started at about 1.35 pm took a little over an hour before all the relevant parties, departed.

It would be recalled that the three governors filed a suit against the Federal Government seeking a restraining order to stop the full implementation of the naira redesign policy of the CBN.

But the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing until February 22.
