The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a woman identified to be Mrs. Nnadi Nora Chinyere, who was heading to Italy with 100 wraps of heroin and two parcels of the same substance.

The Italy-bound woman was nabbed at the departure hall of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos State.

NDLEA‘s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, made this disclosure in a statement issued on Monday.

According to him, the woman was discovered on Tuesday, August 3, during an outward clearance of passengers on a Qatar Airways flight to Florentine, Italy.

Babafemi also disclosed that Nnadi allegedly concealed the 100 wraps of heroin in five containers of hair relaxer cream. He also added that further investigations was ongoing on the matter, while assuring that the agency was committed to its fight against drug traffickers in the country.

The NDLEA‘s spokesman also added that on Thursday, 12th August, 2021, the NDLEA operatives of the MMIA Command intercepted a United Kingdom bound consignment of illicit drugs at the NAHCO export shed of the airport.

According to him, investigation revealed the consignment contained 66.600kg of cannabis sativa; 1.600kg heroin, and 1.450kg of cocaine with a combined weight of 69.65kilograms, which were all concealed inside cosmetics.
