Following plethora of alleged illicit and inappropriate expenditure associated with Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei as acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), President Muhammadu Buhari has fired him and his Interim Management Committee(IMC).
Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, who announced this latest development via a press statement on Saturday said the president has approved Effiong Awa, acting executive director of finance and administration of the commission as the new lead of the agency.

Mr Adesina said Akwa would be responsible for overseeing the completion of a forensic audit ordered by President Buhari.
The statement reads: “President Buhari approves interim administrator for the NDDC. He is Mr Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, who is to assume headship till completion of the forensic audit.”
