Deluge of tributes has followed the passage of erudite journalist and founding Chairman of the Leadership Media Group, Dr Sam Nda-Isaiah who died late Friday.
Nda-Isaiah, a former presidential candidate died of the Covid-19 disease after a brief illness at the age of 58.

The Leadership newspapers publisher started off as a pharmacist before switching career to journalism following his contribution to Daily Trust’s publication as a columnist with finesse.
President Muhammadu Buhari led the pack of prominent Nigerians mourning the passage of the Nigerian media personality.
Recall Nda-Isaiah was the head of publicity for the Buhari’s presidential campaign in 2003.
Buhari who described Nda-Isaiah as a “friend and ally” said the news of his death came to him as a shock.
The President said “the country has lost a man of conviction, a resolute and dogged believer in a better Nigeria.”
In a statement issued by his media adviser, Femi Adesina, Buhari condoled with the family, friends and associates of the deceased.
“He will be sorely missed. This is a massive fish gone out of the media ocean.”
Also, former President Goodluck Jonathan said Nda-Isaiah promoted peace, progress and unity of the country through his journalism work, noting that the Nigerian media has lost a committed soul.
Jonathan wrote: “I commiserate with the Nda- Isaiah family, the Nigerian media, his political associates and all sympathisers on the demise of Sam Nda- Isaiah at the age of 58 after a brief illness.
“Sam Nda- Isaiah was a pharmacist, an erudite journalist, a columnist and a newspaper publisher who deployed his creativity and platforms to promote the peace, progress and unity of Nigeria.
“He will be missed by many members of our society, for his incisive commentary on the state of our nation and for his patriotism.”
The Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) expressed shock over the demise of the Leadership Newspapers’ Chairman.
A statement by the Chairman of the forum and governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong said: “This is a very sad development for the country as we have lost one of the most vibrant and courageous media entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
“Sam was a visionary man who believed in the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria.
“He did so through his writings and contributions which reflected his passion for a strong democratic culture,” he said.
“His big dream led to the birth and nurturing of the Leadership Newspapers that has grown to become one of the leading newspapers in the country.”
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan also commiserated with the Nda-Isaiah family, Nigerian newspaper industry and friends of the deceased.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media, Ola Awoniyi, the President of the Senate said: “Sam Nda-Isaiah fervently believed in the Nigerian project and this is reflected in his writings and the editorial focus and tone of his Leadership Newspaper.
“His contributions as a public opinion shaper and principled politician are profound and have put his imprints on the Nigerian history despite his early home call.”
