Barely twenty-four hours after the gruesome murder of a Lagos-based legal practitioner, Barrister Omobolanle Raheem, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Epe branch, has stormed the Ajiwe Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, Ajah, Lagos, demanding for justice.

The New Diplomat had earlier reported that an operative from the Ajiwe division of the police force allegedly shot Bolanle enroute Ajah under bridge on Christmas day, December 25, 2022.

In a swift response to the gruesome murder, the NBA, Epe Branch led by its secretary, Aare Oladotun Hassan visited Ajiwe Police Station.

During the visit, Hassan, while lamenting the unwarranted killing of the lagos lawyer, affirmed the need for police and other security outfit to exercise extra-caution while dealing with citizens.

Hassan noted that the essence of the visit was to ensure that adequate justice and due diligent prosecution of the principal suspect is achieved, in consonance with the NBA National directives.

He also called for a continuous high-level training on Human and Public Relations to bolster how law enforcement agents relate with the general public.

The Secretary, used the opportunity to reaffirm his earlier “proposition advisory on the need to have a Lawyers and Police Relation Committee (LPRC), while each Divisional Headquarters should have a functional legal desk, wherein members of the NBA can serve as support staff regulated, maintained and managed by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice as a panacea model towards building mutual interest and maintain standard professional legal practice.”
