Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended lawmaker of Kogi Central Senatorial District has declared that she will soon present evidence of sexual harassment allegedly perpetrated by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking with unwavering confidence, Akpoti-Uduaghan asserted that she possesses concrete proof to substantiate her claims against the Senate President.

She made this known during an interview session with the Channels TV saying: “At the right time and the right space, I will present the evidence that I have.”

This comes after weeks of escalating tension between Akpoti-Uduaghan and the Senate leadership, sparked by her public accusation that Akpabio had sexually harassed her and obstructed her legislative duties.

The controversy began in February when the female senator claimed that Akpabio made inappropriate advances toward her during a visit to his residence in Akwa Ibom in December 2023, allegations that Akpabio has vehemently denied.

Speaking further, the lawmaker commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting the recall petition against her.

She also said though belated, the decision of the electoral umpire INEC to reject a petition for her recall was in the right direction.

“I’m a lawyer. I’m a senator and I understand how Nigeria works. For me, the most important thing is this recall process has been stalled.

“I give kudos and credit to INEC even though I believe they should have thrown it away from the get-go,” she said.
