Governor of Nassarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has been honored with the prestigious ‘Ambassador of Peace’ award by Umaisha Political Central Association (UPCA).

The Governor was honored by some youth in the state. UPCA is an association of the youths of Umaisha area of Nassarawa State.

Nassarawa Speaker of House of Assembly,  Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, also won the award of ‘Best Leader’ of the year. The speaker who represents Ugya/Umaisha constituency was recognized for his efforts in the  development of his  constituency.

Also, Mr Nuhu Dauda,  Toto Local Government  Council Chairman  received the award of ‘Local Government Peace Maker’.

While presenting the awards,  UPCA President, Mr Ibrahim Karika said the honour bestowed on the awardees was as a result of their quality leadership style. Karika commended the developmental programmes  of  Governor Sule, especially in the areas of infrastructure development and promotion of peace.

While responding, the speaker of the House of Assembly, Balarabe-Abdullahi who also represented  the sate Governor, appreciated the youth for theirsupport for the government of the day.

“You took me by surprise. I am short of words and I must tell you that today is one of the happiest moments of my life”, the speaker said.

The speaker also promised to continue the good works which earned him the award of the ‘Best Leader’.  “As a leader, I welcome criticism but let it be constructive criticism as l know that o have touched many lives and I am still touching your lives through my various projects and programmes. I cannot solve all your problems at once. Let’s continue to be patient in order to enjoy the much needed dividends of democracy,” he added.
