The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has denied reports that one of its aircrafts crashed on Sunday.

This follows viral reports, claiming that a NAF fighter jet crashed around Kaduna on Sunday.

But the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, while reacting to the report told reporters that there was “No crash in Kaduna.”

Gabkwet, who said he was still making contacts from other locations, insisted that no NAF plane left Yola, Adamawa State for Kaduna on Sunday as it was being purported.

“No crash in Kaduna. No aircraft left Yola for Kaduna. I am making contact and awaiting information from other locations,” he said.

His reaction comes amid sketchy details and claims coming from military sources that a NAF jet might have crashed in less two month after a military plane went down in Kaduna. The tragedy claimed the life of immediate past Army Chief, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru alongside 10 others in May, 2021.
