Yekini Nabena, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday described the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as a failure in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Nabena had condemned Mohammed for calling for the cancellation of the ongoing APC membership registration and revalidation exercise in Kwara state.
But Mohammed on Tuesday lashed out at Nabena, asking him to mind his business rather than being an impostor.
The minister in a statement said: ‘‘The said Nabena must have been speaking for himself, as the Apc National Caretaker Committee, as presently constituted, has no position like that of Deputy National Publicity Secretary.
‘‘As things stand, therefore, anyone claiming to be the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC is an impostor, hence I will not dignify such a pretender with a response.’’
Reacting to the Minister’s statement, Nabena on Wednesday said Mohammed is no more relevant and whatever he says is considered as a lie.
The APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary’s reaction was contained in a statement made available to the journalist on Wednesday. Nabena condemned Mohammed for calling him an impostor, stating that very soon the real impostor would soon be exposed.
The statement reads: “Lai Mohammed should go back to his state chapter (Kwara) if he still relevant there and work with the governor and other stakeholders for his voice to be heard at the national level. At the right time, Lai Mohammed and his gang will be exposed and Nigerians will then know the real impostor, that time is sooner. Lai Mohammed and his fifth columnists are the biggest problems of this administration. As the Minister of Information and Culture that is supposed to explain the policies and programmes, including remarkable achievements of this administration to Nigerians, Lai Muhammed has failed woefully.
“Whatever he says is considered a lie. If not, Lai should tell Nigerians what has been his contributions in the last five years.” Nabena said.
