AS Roma Coach, Jose Mourinho is set to accompany the new head coach of Super Eagles to Nigeria, next week, emerging reports said.

A report by OwnGoalNigeria disclosed that Mourinho recommended Jose Peseiro, his assistant while he was a coach of Real Madrid for the top job.

According to the report, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is expected to make the official announcement of the appointment of Peseiro next week.

Mourinho is also expected to be in Nigeria next week alongside Peseiro for the official unveiling.

Though the details of the contract still remains sketchy, report has it that Peseiro won’t be in charge of the Super Eagles for the Africa Cup of Nations starting on January 9, 2021.

He is however expected to be in Cameroon where the competition will take place to observe and work with the team from a distance before taking over for the World Cup qualifiers play-off.
