Hajia Dada, the mother of the former president of Nigeria, the late Umaru Musa Yar’adua, and late Chief of Staff Supreme Headquarters during the Obasanjo military regime, late late Major General Shehu Musa Yar’adua passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. She was 101 years of age.

She was said to have breathed her last at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina on Monday evening after a brief illness.

The burial arrangement is expected to be announced later by the family.

The New Diplomat reports that Dada was the wife of Musa Yar’Adua, Mutawallen Katsina and a former Minister of Lagos Affairs in the First Republic.

She is also the mother of Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, the second in command in the Obasanjo-led military regime and Umar Musa Yar’Adua a former president of Nigeria.

Dada is also the mother of Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Army.

Also, one of her grandchildren, Murtala Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, was a former minister under the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
