Reactions have begun to trail the final dismissal of the Super Eagles Coach, by the Nigeria Football Federation as ex-international, Augustine Eguavoen, has been appointed as Technical Adviser on interim basis.
Rohr’s sack was announced by NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi.
The announcement read: “The relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end. We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria.
“We also want to thank the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for their collaboration and guidance all through.”
The NFF executive committee also appointed assistants for Eguavoen.
Salisu Yusuf will serve as Chief Coach; Paul Aigbogun Assistant Coach; Joseph Yobo, Assistant Coach; Dr Terry Eguaoje, Assistant Coach and Aloysius Agu, Goalkeeper Trainer.
Former Nigeria captains Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Garba Lawal have been appointed to provide technical and ambassadorial support for the crew.
Rohr has been in charge of the Super Eagles for more than five years, logging the record as Nigeria’s longest –serving manager.
Eguavoen will now take charge of the team as it begins preparations for the 33rd African Cup of Nations taking place in Cameroon between 9 January and 6 February 2022.
However, mixed reactions have continued to trail his dismissal as some Nigerians suggested that a foreign coach should be hired while some were totally against the suggestion.

They should hire a good foreign coach. Eagles won’t do better with Nigeria coaches. Eguavoen was there before and was fired. What is he going to do different this time? @DavidEboh5

What training has he undergone since the last time he was Eagles mgr to improve his knowledge of the game? I have to be proven wrong but I don’t rate our coaches except maybe Late Keshi. Has Eguavoen any UEFA coaching batches?@NoahNwosu75

We should have left Rohr instead of bringing back Eguavon. Rohr qualified us for the WCand did fairly well in 2018. Anyway wish that all the best.@MenaTueje.
