When people say politics is war by another name it may seem they’re exaggerating but what’s playing out between former governor El-rufai’s family and Shehu Sani may have corroborated this claim.
It’s public knowledge that there was no love lost between the former legislator and the El-rufai’s family while both parties wielded political power.
Yet many think with both parties holding no political posts again, they may have sheathed their swords.
This may not be true, it appears everything is deemed fair in the lingering feud. This is as the former first lady, Hadiza El-rufai took a swipe at Senator Shehu Sani on X on Sunday(this morning).
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Assembly, had made a post about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the post, the former lawmaker stated that President Tinubu’s traveling out of the country has a way of affecting taxes and prices of commodities.
‘’New law of economics; when the President travels out,Taxes and Prices goes up,” he wrote.
This tweet may look harmless to other Nigerians who don’t have an axe to grind with Sani but not with Hadiza.
Hadiza didn’t give Sani some slack by ascribing the grammatical flaw to oversight but came heavily on him.
She said, ” Senator your tweet should have read, “go up and not “goes up” while reacting to Sani’s post.
Following this, some Nigerians took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

There are reports that the rift between Sani and ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai cost him his parliamentary seat in 2019.
Sani had left the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the height of their disagreement.
He had sought to be reelected into the senate but lost to Uba Sani, incumbent governor of Kaduna and former ally of El-Rufai.
However, El-Rufai and Uba Sani fell apart months after the latter succeeded the former.
Also weeks after El-rufai completed his tenure last year, Shehu Sani had asked him to publicly publish his asset forms of 2015 and 2023.
In a tweet, Sani had accused El-Rufai of leaving a huge debt for the state, despite claiming he never misappropriated the state’s funds.
He alleged that the ex-governor was awaiting a political appointment from President Bola Tinubu, after “working for Rotimi Amaechi”.
“Mr Elrufai, retired Governor now back to ‘blogging on Twitter’ while waiting for political appointment from Tinubu, after working for Amaechi and surreptitiously dropping negative stories.”
“You left a huge debt profile for our Children and grand Children in Kaduna State to pay AND YOU claimed that you NEVER STOLE from the coffers of Kaduna State. One of your stooges even claimed that you are poorer now. I dare you to make public your assets by publishing the content of the form you submitted at the Code of Conduct Bureau, both the one of 2015 and that of 2023. I will get back to you after you have done this,” he tweeted.
Reacting to the tweet, El-rufai’s son, Bashir, said Sani should keep the Twitter ‘war’ between people who are his mates and not extend the same to his father.
“Is this seriously how to talk to your senior? You should keep this Twitter gbas gbos between you & us, his children. We are the ones that are your mates,” he wrote.
This latest action by El-rufai’s wife may trigger another round of squabble between both parties.
