The Nigeria Air Force, Thursday laid the bodies of the seven Airforce Officers who died in Sunday’s air crash to rest at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.
The officers were crew members of the ill-fated Beechcraft King Air 350 that crashed at Bassa village near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport while on a reconnaissance mission to Niger State.
The deceased include: Captain, Fl Lt. Haruna Gadzama; Fl. Lt. Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot); Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System Specialist); Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist); Fl. Sgt. Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist); Sgt. Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist) and Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).
Present at the ceremony are Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi (Rtd); Service Chiefs led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor; family members of the deceased and several military men.
The coffins containing bodies of the heroes were draped in Nigerian flags. Sitting on each coffin were the shoes and caps of the deceased.
