The Executives of Uvwie Youths United Movement, Effurun, Delta State have paid a ‘thank you’ visit to the General Overseer of Mercyland Ministry Inc., Prophet Jeremiah Funfeyi, for the physical and spiritual development his ministry has attracted to Uvwie kingdom since he established his headquarters in the area.

The youth body led by its President, Comrade Samson Agbonhire while speaking during the visit to the General Overseer at the Church Headquarters in Effurun today, noted that since the establishment of the church, the area has witnessed unprecedented peace and development, adding that the prayer and supplication of Prophet Funfeyi has also impacted positively on the economy of the Local Government in terms of commerce and employment.

Said he: “We have come here today to say we are very grateful for what God has been doing in our lives and this community at large through this ministry.  We are happy that this kind of church, this ministry is here in our kingdom, in our community. We want to thank you for the prayers you have been praying for us.  We know that since you came here there has been peace in Uvwie.  This is because we believe you have been praying for us for a lasting peace in this kingdom.  So, we really want to thank you for what you have done.

“And besides, since you came here your ministry has brought employment; it has brought about generation of business and others.  So many persons who have come from far and near are engaged in different kinds of businesses here.  Even our own people are doing business here.  So, it has brought more development to our kingdom.  So, we are here to say thank you.

“But above all, we want to say we are very much satisfied with your prayers.  God has used you to heal many people.  God has used you to win many people to God, even beyond this area.  So, our major aim of being here is to say thank you and your ministry for the good things you have brought to this land and for what you have been doing for all of us.  And may God add more grace to your life.”

Responding, the General Overseer of the Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Ogboto Funfeyi recalled how he started his ministry in a very small way but God blessed it beyond his imagination, adding that he never thought it could have been this big if not for God.  He noted that he was not a stranger in Uvwie, pointing out that the Effurun people migrated from Tuomo in Burutu Local Government Area which is his home town.

He said that God has used the ministry to reach to very many people within and outside the kingdom, adding that many souls have been won to Christ and many who would have been dead have been alive because of the mercy of God.

Said he: “Today, because what God has done in the land of Effurun, we have won many souls to the kingdom of God and many souls who would have died before now are alive. Many who have been hopeless have become hopeful and they are living well.

“So, I thank you for this visit and I thank God for our lives.  I thank God that He has finally subdued the problem in this area since we came here.  It is my duty and my office to pray for God to bring peace to the land of Effurun.  I’m here always praying for the youths, for the elders and praying for the land for more development to come in.  And more developments are coming.

“Many people from other places are now trooping into Warri and Effurun because peace has been restored to the area since we came in.  I really thank God for your coming today.  May God continue to bless the executive and members of your group.”

He assured the youths that he is available especially in times of celebrations he would be very ready to welcome them, adding that as a “Son of the soil, he would also make himself available” whenever they need him.  Prophet Funfeyi also took time to pray for the continuous peace and development of Uvwie kingdom.

Also present at the occasion was the Hon. Commissioner for Youth Matters in the State, Hon. Asupa Forteta, Hon. Francis Ariyo, some pastors of the church among others.
