Two weeks to the May 29 inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, some leaders of the All Progressive Congress have met with one of his most virulent critic, Chief Bode George.
The meeting is part of efforts been made to ensure maximum support for the new administration.
A source close to the meeting told our reporter that the respected party officials are working assiduously to ensure a hitch free inauguration for the president-elect.
As part of these efforts, The New Diplomat gathered, some APC chieftains recently met with Chief George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who has sworn to relocate to some neighboring country of Tinubu wins the presidency.
The APC leaders who had a closed door meeting with Chief George, includes leader of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the apex leadership of the party in Lagos State, Prince Tajudeen Olusi; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
Details of the meeting have not been disclosed but a reliable source said the party bigwigs want to ensure that Chief George does not go for another round of vicious attack on Tinubu so close to the inauguration date.
Pundits say public support for the President-elect from Chief George will o doubt enhance the credibility of the May 29 inauguration.
