In his words: “The team really pushed me to the national team and now I’m so happy for the team and for the country.”

“The goal is a lot of confidence for the striker to score and now I’m very happy.”

“We will go for AFCON’s and take the goals,” he added.

Onuachu scored in added time with a header after a goal-mouth scramble to give Nigeria all three points.

The victory made Nigeria to become the first country to defeat the Benin’s senior side at home on their undulating pitch in Port Novo stadium in as much as eight years of international football there.

Am glad they won, but believe it or not if you watched the match and you’re glad with the shit they played 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️@Xblaze1998

Cut them a slack bro. The pitch does not allow for smooth play, if you over do on that pitch, you would get a very bad injury.@attatmatwit

Congratulations to Nigerians but I am sorry to say this, Rohr isn’t bringing the best of this team and Pinnick will use politics to waste this golden generation of talents. We need a better coach I’d we want to win AFCON. My two cent@amaraedec.
