Several pupils have been reportedly crushed to death by a hit-and-run truck driver along Ogunnusi Road, Grammar School bus stop in the Ojodu axis of Lagos, Tuesday.

According to reports, the affected students, who were from a Secondary School in the area, were heading home after school hours. They wanted to cross the road when the truck ran over them.

The incident has reportedly resulted in a riot as angered students blocked a major road in the area and vandalised vehicles, especially trucks, while policemen fired tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Adekunle Ajisebutu has confirmed the arrest of the driver, adding that investigation had commenced into the incident.
