Controversial erstwhile chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Alhaji Abdulrasheed Maina, has said he had no case to answer over lingering allegations brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N2bn fraud.
Maina who said this on Wednesday at the Federal High Court, Abuja, told the presiding Judge, Justice Okon Abang as soon as the EFCC, through its counsel, Farouk Abdullah, closed its case submission, that he would be filing a no-case submission.

Maina through his lawyer, Anayo Adibe, explained his client’s position as well as made his client’s plans known to the presiding Judge shortly after cross-examing the ninth prosecution witness (PW9), Rouqquaya Ibrahim, an EFCC investigator.
Justice Abang , however, adjourned the case till Friday to enable the counsel to Maina, (defendant), Anayo Adobe, to address the court orally and for the prosecution counsel, Abdullah, to respond to the no-case submission.
It would be recalled that this matter has been a long and protracted one. The defendant was first arraigned before Justice Abang, on Oct. 25, 2019, by the EFCC alongside his firm, Common Input Property and Investment Ltd.
Maina pleaded not guilty to all the 12-count charges that have been slammed on him by the EFCC.
