The Los Angeles Lakers forward, LeBron James, is now set to sign a new endorsement deal with PepsiCo. This is coming after his 18-year deal with Coca-Cola brand came to an end last September.

According to reports from Front Office Sports, James will sign a new endorsement deal with Pepsi who is the official beverage partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is expected to become the face of Mountain Dew as part of the endorsement deal agreement.

However, the details of the deal has not been reported yet. James, who has an endorsement deal with Nike brand and Upper Deck among others, makes an estimated $50 million per year. Judging by that, the Pepsi deal would certainly be an expensive deal.

It would be recalled that James’ deal with Coca-Cola expired in 2020. The basketball star had signed the deal with Coca-Cola in 2003, before his career started. Over the 18 years, James promoted Sprite and Powerade brands of Coca-Cola.

In a statement released by the beverage brand, the company said, “LeBron’s contract came up at a time when both he and the Coca-Cola Company were actively reviewing all of its resources to make sure it was investing in places that ensured long-term growth. After many discussions with LeBron and his team, we mutually agreed to part ways.”

James is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. His accomplishments include four NBA championship, four NBA Most Valuable Player(MVP) Awards, four Finals MVP Awards and two Olympic gold medals.

He is widely considered as one of the greatest NBA players in history.
