Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has commiserated with the family of the Publisher of This day newspaper, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena, over the death of his mother just as he eulogized the late octogenarian for living a life of service to humanity.

The death of Princess Margaret Obaigbena was announced by the family recently. She died at the age of 88 years.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Yomi Odunuga, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege said that the death of Mama Obaigbena was a celebration of life as she fulfilled four fundamental aspects of life, adding that she knew God, contributed to the cause of humanity, living a fulfilled life and raising and living behind successful children.

Omo-Agege further said that late Mama Obaigbena’s life in earth impacted greatly on many lives directly and indirectly.

“I commiserate deeply with the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of THISDAY /ARISE Media Group, Mr. Nduka Obaigbena, his siblings and the entire royal family of Owa Kingdom in Delta state over the passing of Mama Margaret Obaigbena (nee Usifoh).

“Even in mourning, we have cause to thank God Almighty for her life and her humanitarian calling as a nurse through which a dutiful commitment got her elevated to the position of Chief Nursing Officer in the old Bendel State government and later, the Delta State Government.

“She was Special Adviser to three Governors in Delta State and most importantly, she lived a life of service to humanity.

“Leaving behind great children including your humble self Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Prince Ben Obaigbena, Prince Allen Obaigbena, Princess Isiome Ukwa as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren was no mean feat for a devoted mother.

“As the royal family of Owa Kingdom commences arrangements for the celebration of a truly worthy life, I join many others in praying that God grant Mama Obaigbena’s soul eternal rest and help all those she left behind to find comfort in her productive and impactful life,” Senator Omo-Agege said.
