As the Lagos State Government commences the yuletide sale of Lake Rice at various centres across the State, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Oluwatoyin Suarau has assured that the present administration will ensure the continuous availability of the rice in designated centres as well as work assiduously to ensure adequate supply.

The Commissioner, who disclosed this during an impromptu visit to one of the designated centres, Lagos Television (LTV) Complex, Agidingbi-Ikeja, to monitor the sale activities, stated that government remains committed to making policies that will enhance food productivity in the State.

He reiterated that the State government will continue to maintain the rice high quality and low price, stressing that, “Our LAKE Rice is of good quality. The major difference between LAKE Rice and imported rice is that the imported rice has a minimum of five to six years storage lifespan unlike LAKE Rice that is fresh”.

The Commissioner said residents can easily buy the Lake Rice product at Lagos Agric Input Supply Authority Ojo, (LAISA); Farm Service Centres Odogunyan, Ikorodu; Farmers Mart, Benson Street, off Akerele, Surulere; Agricultural Development Authority (ADA) Oko-Oba Agege; Farm Service Centre, Agric Complex, Ajah; Farm Service Centre, Temu Epe and Lagos State Television Complex Agidingbi.

Lagosians who besieged the designated sale centres across the State have applauded the State government for the logistics put in place at the centres which had enabled the buyers to purchase the product with ease and in an atmosphere devoid of rancour.
