The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Lagos State has berated the All Progressives Congress(APC)for failing to live up to expectations of Lagosians.

The opposition party said the ruling party in the state has failed to deliver the dividends of democracy he promised the people of the state during 2023 campaigns.
The party stressed that the APC’s failure is evident in the untold hardship pervading the whole state and by extension Nigeria
The PDP’s Vice-Chairman in Lagos State, Tai Benedict, said this on Saturday while speaking to journalists.
Benedict touted his party as the viable alternative to what he described as “consistent failure” of the ruling party.

Benedict stressed that a party that did not live up to expectations could be described as corrupt and careless.

“Generally, the APC has not been living up to expectations. People are going through hardship. Lagos State has never been ruled by the Peoples Democratic Party. The level of poverty in Lagos is very high,” Benedict added.

He said the inability of the PDP to rule the state was affecting many people.

Reacting to the PDP’s statement, the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, expressed disbelief at the PDP’s ability to critique the ruling party, describing it as ‘moribund and non-existent’ in its effectiveness as an opposition force.
He said: “I wonder what moral ground the PDP stands on in questioning the performance of an APC government that is doing so well and has performed tremendously in providing accessible governance in Nigeria.”

The PDP’s criticism came barely 72 hours after governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved N85,000 as minimum wage for civil servants in the state
The governor’s approval of N85,000 attracted mild criticism from some rights’ activists who deemed the money insubstantial compared to the Internally Generated Revenue and monthly federal allocations of the state.
But Sanwo-Olu had promised fo increased the money to N100, 000 by January.
